The Stadust Quartet from The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra will play an exciting and varied mix of light and atmospheric classical music along with well-known film score themes. This unique ensemble consists of flute, violin, viola and harp with musicians from England, France, Norway and Australia.
The Oslo Philharmonic was founded in 1919 and is annually giving 60-70 concerts at its home venue Oslo Concert Hall. The concert programs have a high international profile, as for repertory as well as performing artists. The orchestra is also offering school and outreach programs, outdoor concerts drawing up to 25 000 listeners and nationwide touring programs. The orchestra reached great international fame with music director Mariss Jansons from 1979 and paid visits to a large number of major venues in Europe, the Americas and East Asia. With its present chief conductor Vasily Petrenko the orchestra has played twice at the BBC Proms, ten concerts within Toshiba Grand Concerts in Japan and has toured in Germany, Great Britain including the Edinburgh Festival, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
